Miami just held their most physical practice since opening up spring football earlier this month.

The Hurricanes donned full pads for the first time and engaged in thudding and increased contact. After viewing roughly the first 45 minutes during media availability, I offered my top takeaways from skill drills and one on one's.

-RB TreVonte' Citizen seems to be working his way back nicely from the knee injury that sidelined him the past two seasons. He was a full participant in full pads and absorbed some contact in 7 on 7 drills.

-Quarterbacks went through accuracy drills this morning and it's hard not to notice Albany transfer Reese Poffenbarger showing excellent accuracy.

-With pads and contact comes more energy and competitive trash talk. Not only do the players engage in it but it's fun to watch friendly trash talk between coaches. WR coach Kevin Beard and cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson are especially fun to watch.

-There were good battles between DB's and WR's in one on ones. Veteran receiver Xavier Restrepo and experienced transfer DB Mishael Powell match up often and each won some of those battles this morning. Restrepo nearly had another highlight reel grab today after falling to the ground but the football appeared to hit the ground first. Even so, it got Cam Ward pumped to see Restrepo's effort.

-Several receivers did a nice job creating separation today, including Restrepo, Ray Ray Joseph, Isaiah Horton and Joshisa Trader
