Video & Analysis: Jim Harbaugh Confirms Chris Evans Will Return To Football Team

Junior running back Chris Evans could add a really nice boost to an already talented position group next fall.

Over the weekend, junior running back Chris Evans fired off a cryptic tweet about his football future at Michigan and on Monday afternoon, Jim Harbaugh confirmed that Evans will be returning to the football program in just a couple months.

It looked like Evans' career in a winged helmet was over earlier this year but apparently he got his ducks in a row and will now be reinstated to both the university as a student and the program as an athlete.

Brown's Breakdown

Evans obviously played running back over the course of his three years at Michigan and has 304 carries to his name. If he stays at running exclusively, he'll make for a dynamic trio next fall with the emergence of Hassan Haskins and Zach Charbonnet.

With that said, Evans definitely has the ability to play slot or even wide receiver in Josh Gattis' system. Evans was viewed as an athlete coming out of high school and play just about as much wide receiver in high school as he did running back. He's very comfortable running routes, catching the ball and, of course, making people miss in the open field once he turns into a ball carrier.

It'll be very interesting to see where he fits in on offense after missing a year of football and with two emerging, young running backs now on the roster.

How do you think Evans fits into the offense? What do you think he'll do next fall? Comment below!!!
