Michigan Officially Hosting Long, Athletic Pass Rusher

With the early signing period just a week away, Michigan is out on the trail and hosting prospects when it makes sense.

Michigan has done a great job with EDGE rushers in recent years so it's not surprising that District Heights (Md.) Bishop McNamara's Lugard Edokpayi is highly interested in the Wolverines.

The 6-6, 230-pounder officially visited Maryland over the weekend, is in Ann Arbor right now for another OV and will round out the week checking out Florida State down in Tallahassee. He also checked out Rutgers earlier this month. As of right now, it does feel like a three-horse race between U-M, FSU and the home state Terrapins.

On tape, Edokpayi stands out because of his length and speed. He's a bit raw when it comes to his pass rush moves, but you can see tons and tons of potential when you watch him play. You can also see it when he's on offense where he plays wide receiver, which certainly puts that length and athleticism on display.

Right now, depending on where you look, Maryland appears to have the edge in Edokpayi's recruitment, but it's certainly not a run away and this week's official visits will go a long way with him. The long pass rusher plans to make his decision on or before National Signing Day next week, so all of these visits are huge for him.
