Michigan Offers 5-Star Wide Receiver

The Wolverines are attempting to parlay their national championship run into major success on the recruiting trail.

Michigan obviously just won it all on the field, which should certainly help win some battles on the trail. The coaches at Michigan have never been afraid of offering and recruiting big fish from all corners of the country and that certainly seems to be the case with Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham.

The 6-3, 180-pounder recently took to Twitter to let everyone know that he now has an offer in hand from the national champs.

It's obviously going to be tough for Michigan to go down into Mississippi and pluck out one of the top wide receivers in the entire country, but it's worth it to try, especially after the 15-0 season. It also doesn't hurt that wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy is a Louisiana native. He can definitely relate with a kid like Cunningham about relocating from the deep south all the way up to Ann Arbor. For now, most think Mississippi State is leading for Cunningham with Ole Miss and Tennessee also in the mix.

Of course, everyone, including Cunningham and other recruits, are watching and waiting to see what happens with Jim Harbaugh. As he's out interviewing for NFL jobs, it's quite tough for the rest of the coaches to hit the recruiting trail. Still, efforts are being made and everyone is doing the best they can during these uncertain times.
