UPDATE: 4 dead, including suspect, 5 wounded in shooting at Michigan State

Four fatalities, including the suspected shooter, have been confirmed by MSU police following a shooting at Michigan State University on Monday night. Five other victims have been taken to Sparrow Hospital to be treated for injury.
The suspected shooter was located nearly five miles off campus near Lake Lansing Road and North Larch Street, and police say he died from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“We start tonight with an important update, the suspect in this incident was located outside the MSU campus and it does appear that suspect has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is deceased,” MSU Police and Public Safety Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman said at a 12:30 a.m. Tuesday press conference.
“We no longer have an active threat on campus. There is no longer a threat to campus. No longer a need to shelter in place."
Rozman confirmed that the only shooting locations were at Berkley Hall and the MSU Union. Two victims died at Berkley, while a third died at Union.
All campus activities have been cancelled for the next 48 hours, including athletics, classes and campus-related activities. This includes Wednesday night's Michigan State men's basketball game against Minnesota at the Breslin Center.
Rozman later confirmed that the suspected shooter is a 43-year-old male, and that police currently have no indications of what the suspect's motive was for the shooting.
Spartan Nation will continue to monitor this story as it continues to develop.
