This is not a shocker. Spartan Nation has known of situation for some time and we learned last night this was a possibility. At 1:08 today we learned that this was going to happen. We chose not to make what we knew public (MSU knew that we had it) so as to let Izzo talk about it.

There are a lot of people reading into this and that shouldn't be. We are well aware of what has transpired. Nix has no grade or legal issues. Just a personal issue to work through. Expect more after Maui. If Nix should transfer I will give you ALL the details and trust me they aren't juicy. If he stays (That is what I wish for) the point will be moot. We will have the video of Izzo later this evening.

I informed the Spartan Nation senior writers that he was not going to Maui earlier this afternoon and I can assure you that we were aware, but made the choice to let Izzo address it. Sometimes the only thing that makes some choose to break it first is ego and frankly we have no problem letting Izzo address it and not us first.

I have already received multiple emails asking me to "Get to the bottom." The bottom is what I wrote. Nix is a great kid and loved by his teammates and coaches.
