EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior outside hitter Lauren Wicinski and sophomore libero Kori Moster were selected to the AVCA Division I All-America Teams as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Wednesday, Dec. 12. Wicinski received second-team honors and Moster earned honorable mention accolades. It marks the first time since 1995 that two Spartans have been recognized by the AVCA in the same season.

"We are excited to learn of Lauren's very well deserved honor of being named All-America," head coach Cathy George said. "Lauren has brought a great deal to our team in several different areas and we look forward to seeing her develop this upcoming year to achieve even greater goals in the future."

Wicinski, a Geneva, Ill., native, becomes the 10th All-American at Michigan State and was a two-time All-American at Northern Illinois before transferring to MSU. She was an honorable mention honoree in 2010 and was named to the third-team in 2011.

Wicinski ranked fourth in the NCAA in service aces per set with 0.63 and was seventh in the country in points per set with 5.33 this season. Her mark of 4.43 kills per set also ranks 16th in the NCAA. Wicinski broke the single-season record for service aces at MSU with 81, breaking the previous record of 75 that had stood since 1983.

Kori Moster, a co-captain, becomes the 11th All-American at MSU after securing honorable mention recognition. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native led MSU with 4.67 digs per set, ranking second in the Big Ten this season, and also had 0.26 service aces per set.

"Kori is also very deserving of this achievement and has worked tirelessly this season," George said. "She is a phenomenal leader and a game-changer for us in the backcourt. Being just a sophomore, we are very excited to see what her future holds."

Moster was also named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year earlier this season for her play at libero and was an AVCA All-Mideast Region honorable mention. Moster has already surpassed 1,000 career digs at MSU in just two seasons. Her mark of 602 this year places her second all-time in a single season at Michigan State.
