Charlottesville, Virginia - Two Michigan State track & field program records were set on Saturday as the Spartans won three events on the final day of the Virginia Challenge.

Sophomore Rachele Schulist won the women's 5000 meter run and shattered the MSU school record by more than 17 seconds with a time of 15:36.33. Junior Cynthia Watt was the second record-setter for the Spartans on the day, winning the women's hammer throw with a mark of 65.17 meters.

Senior Jarred Gambrell was the third individual winner for MSU with a mark of 7.25m in the men's long jump open competition.

Julia Otwell, Lindsay Clark and Sara Kroll also set new career bests and finished in the top-10 of the women's 5000. Otwell ran to a third-place finish with a time of 16:05.75, followed by Clark (16:08.08) in fifth and Kroll (16:19.90) in ninth.

Junior Caleb Rhynard ran a time of 13:58.35 to finish third overall in the men's 5000 meter run.

Sophomore Vinny Gjokaj finished fourth in the men's hammer throw invite with a career-best mark of 64.06 meters. In the men's shot put invite, senior Antonio James posted a throw of 18.82 meters for a sixth-place finish. On the women's side, freshman Katelyn Daniels finished fourth in the shot put invite with a personal best throw of 15.42 meters.

Senior Alicia Evans clocked in at 23.70 to finish sixth overall in the women's 200 meter race, while fellow senior DeVantre Whitelow placed ninth with a personal best time of 21.25 in the men's 200 meter.

Freshman Morgan Johnson recorded a sixth-place finish in the women's long jump invite with a mark of 5.73 meters.

The team of Jellisa Westney, Aubrey Wilberding, Alicia Evans and Tori Franklin finished fourth in the women's 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:37.85. In the men's 4x400, the team of Antonio Clarke, Whitelow, Brandon Wallace and Austin Sanders ran a time of 3:11.41 and finished fifth.
