EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior Ryan Sierakowski was honored on Tuesday as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

Penn State's Ryan Gallagher picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors.

This is the first career Player of the Week honor for Sierakowski, who is the Spartans leading scorer with 14 points. This is the second B1G Offensive Player of the Week honor for MSU this season as DeJuan Jones earned the honor on Sept. 11.

Sierakowski, a forward from McHenry, Illinois, earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring the game-winning goal in the Spartans' Big Ten opener against Rutgers, 2-1. He scored two goals in the win against the Scarlet Knights as MSU improved to 7-0-2 overall and 1-0-0 in league play. Sierakowski converted a penalty kick in the 64th minute, while sealing the win in the 80th minute.
