Michigan State 2023 Target Alex Birchmeier, Keeps it Simple

Putting in his time on the football field, Michigan State 2023 target, Alex Birchmeier, enjoys the simple life off of the field.

Michigan State 2023 Target and 4-star offensive tackle, Alex Birchmeier, has proven his complexity on the football field.

Being ranked the No. 1 prospect in Virginia and the No. 2 offensive tackle in the entire 2023 class, according to 247 Sports, Birchmeier tries to keep it simple outside of sports.

Birchmeier has received offers from Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, University of Arkansas, and West Virginia.

Although he doesn’t have a list of his top five schools, Birchmeier said, “Right now, I’m in contact with Penn State’s staff a lot. They’re high up in my list of interests. I’m trying to make that same relation with Michigan State.

"My uncle (Mark Birchmeier) was a three-year starter at Michigan State, so it runs in the family a little bit. That caught my interest. He said he loved the team and loves the school, so that persuades me a little bit.”

When asked if Birchmeier will continue being a Spartan, like he is at Broad Run high school, he said, “I definitely think there’s a chance of me being a Spartan (again), but we’ll see.”

Day-to-day, Birchmeier’s routine is wake up, eat, do some training, hangout with friends, play video games, sometimes even have a second training, and tries to find time to go fishing.

“I love to go fishing in my free time. I genuinely like being outside. I’ve done it my whole life. My grandpa would always take me when I was little.”

Now, Birchmeier goes fishing with his dad or a group of his friends; heading out to the ponds three-to-four times a week.

“I have a bunch of different ponds in my area; I like to try new places. I’m still trying to find that sweet spot. I just like going out there and spending time outside. I don’t like sitting down all day and doing nothing; I can’t do that."

While Birchmeier does a lot with football, and even wrestling, he’s actually a lay-low kind of guy.

“I don’t do too much; I try to keep it simple.”
