Michigan State Football Commit Charles Brantley Impressing

Charles Brantley, a Michigan State football commit, has begun his senior season at Venice high school by winning and impressing Spartan fans.

With Mel Tucker and the Michigan State coaching staff's help, MSU has begun moving the 2021 recruiting class in the right direction.

Recent verbal commits from Audric Estime and Jah'Von Grigsby, the Spartan '21 class moved up the leaderboard nationally (No. 48 via Rivals, No. 53 via 247Sports).

Four-star cornerback Charles Brantley committed to Michigan State on April 30, 2020, and since his senior season in high school began, he's been impressive.

In three games, Brantley features 16 tackles (5.3 per game), one tackle for a loss, one interception, one forced fumble, one pass defended, and one fumble recovered for a touchdown.

In 2019, the 6-foot-0, 160-pound defensive back was a key defender – helping his team finish 8-5 and reach the regional finals of the 7A state playoffs.

During that time, Brantley ended with 83 tackles (62 solo), seven interceptions, one forced fumble, three tackles for a loss, five passes defended, three fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns.

According to 247Sports Composite, he is a top-100 recruit in Florida and the No. 58 prospect at his position for 2021.

Brantley should be a welcome addition to the Spartan secondary for Tucker and Harlon Barnett.
