Pair of transfer portal targets visiting Gophers

Ben Johnson is hosting a pair of transfer portal targets as he looks to rebuild the Gophers men's basketball team after a rash of departures.
According to GoldGophers' Tony Liebert, former Davidson guard Grant Huffman is visiting the Gophers Friday. Huffman is a grad transfer after spending four years at Davidson. During his senior season he averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds.
Former Canisius forward Frank Mitchell will be reportedly visiting the University of Minnesota on Monday, according to Joe Moussa of North Pole Hoops.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 12.1 points and 11.6 rebounds-per-game during the 2023-24 season. His 11.6 rebounds-per-game was fourth most in the nation last season.
The Gophers saw five players - Josh Ola-Joseph, Pharrel Payne, Braeden Carrington, Isaiah Ihnen and Kris Keinys - enter the transfer portal in the days following the Gophers' exit from the NIT
