Gophers men's hockey defenseman Carl Fish has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to the Rink Live's Jess Myers.

Fish, who has one year of eligibility remaining, played in 37 games last season for the Gophers, scoring three points — all assists — while recording a plus-minus of plus-9.

Fish is the third Gophers hockey player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Forwards Garrett Pinoniemi and Charlie Strobel also have entered the portal.

The Gophers recently landed perhaps the biggest price in the transfer portal in Connecticut forward Matthew Wood, who led the Huskies in scoring the past two seasons. Wood was a first-round draft pick by the Nashville Predators, being selected No. 15 overall in the 2023 NHL draft.
