After an impressive freshman season, Dakota Jordan was named third team All-American by the website Baseball America on Monday morning. Jordan was among the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for the Bulldogs.

The Canton, Mississippi native was in the starting lineup on Opening Day but struggled, leading to him being benched. However, when Bulldog outfield Bryce Chance went down with an injury, Jordan was inserted back into the lineup and never looked back.

Jordan became the 13th Bulldog to be named to the All-SEC Freshman team as he batted .307 with ten home runs and 40 RBIs. The most impressive part of his season was his ability to hit SEC pitching as the former Jackson Academy Raider batted a staggering .333 in SEC play, along with belting eight home runs.

Jordan made 34 of his 41 starts in left field, showing impressive range and a strong arm. After the season, Dudy Noble Field will need some remodeling because Jordan will likely be a first-round pick as he is a true five-tool player.

The Bulldogs have quite the 1-2 punch in their lineup with Jordan and junior first-baseman Hunter Hines. This duo will need to lead the way for the Bulldogs if they want to return to post-season play after a two-year hiatus.
