Mississippi State women's basketball got a much-needed win on the road at Florida on Monday night, 89-77. The Bulldogs were coming off a tough loss that saw their offense disappear in the second half, and the Bulldogs responded emphatically, putting up 89 points, a season-high in SEC games.

This game was played at an extremely fast pace as the Bulldogs and Gators seemingly raced each other up and down the court. Mississippi State finished with five scorers in double figures, including 11 points from Darrione Rodgers off the bench. Sophomore sharpshooter Debreasha Powe also added 13 points.

The story of the game for the Bulldogs was the duo of Jerkaila Jordan and Jessika Carter. The pair both had double-doubles, with Jordan putting up 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Carter put up 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The duo seemingly always got the Bulldog lead to seven or eight points, but the Gators kept responding thanks primarily to Leilani Correa, who scored a game-high 31 points. MSU began to separate in the final four minutes as the Gators finally couldn't keep up with the Bulldog shot-making.

The Mississippi State defense did not have the best showing, but the potential of the team offense was on full display. The Bulldogs flexed their versatility by showing their ability to score in the paint and hitting their perimeter shots. MSU was 7-for-17 from 3-point range.

MSU head coach Sam Purcell would say there is much to improve upon after this win, but the Bulldogs offense turned heads after struggling at the start of SEC play. The Bulldogs will welcome defending national champions LSU to Starkville next Monday.
