A Bulldog Minute: Who Should Be Starting Quarterback For Week 10

Who is Mississippi State's best option for quarterback heading into the Texas A&M game at Kyle Field? What's the "Wright" Answer?

As the Mississippi State Bulldogs head into Week 10, there's been a lot of reflection on the past month or so about how far they have come this season. Going 4-5, the team has three chances for bowl eligibility, and need two more wins.

With this in mind, head coach Zach Arnett will have to think hard about who he wants driving his offense. So far we have seen appearances from Will Rogers, Mike Wright, and even Chris Parson. However, each of these players has pros and cons.

After leading the team for multiple years, Will Rogers now watches from the sidelines after suffering a shoulder injury. In his place, Mike Wright has beat Arkansas and lost to Kentucky. As the team heads to College Station this week, all possibilities must be considered.

Mike Wright has totaled 385 yards this season with three touchdowns. This does not even reach the half that Will Rogers has collected. Before injury, Rogers put up 1,275 yards with 10 touchdowns.

Although Rogers has totaled more, his injury may put a risk on his season. As a senior, this player needs to play his cards right in order to finish the season strong and avoiding further injury.

Last week, at the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth, third string quarterback Chris Parson made an appearance putting up 57 yards against the Wildcats. Although this wasn't enough to make a comeback and win the game, he got a taste of what it takes to lead in a conference game.

Although it is highly unlikely that Parson will start Week 10, Mike Wright is most probable to lead the team, unless Rogers recovers in miraculous time.
