Early 2023 Kickoff Times Announced For Mississippi State Football

More information on Mississippi State football's 2023 schedule was released last week.

The offseason is in full swing for Mississippi State football, but with fall camp around the corner, the start of the schedule is much closer than it may appear.

More was learned about just what that will look like this week when the kickoff times for some of the earliest dates were announced last week.

The Bulldogs will kick things off at home with a season-opening contest on Sept. 2 against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions in a game set for a 3 p.m. kickoff in Starkville.

That will be followed up by another matchup in Davis Wade Stadium against the Arizona Wildcats for a 6:30 p.m. evening kickoff on Sept. 9. For a third consecutive contest in Starkville, the Bulldogs will then take on the LSU Tigers at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 16.

The team hits the road for the first time on the 2023 season with a clash with the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sept. 23 -- one in which a kickoff time is still yet to be determined.

The next game with a kickoff time that has been announced will be against the in-state rival Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles at 11 a.m. CT in Starkville, with the Egg Bowl against the Ole Miss Rebels set for less than one week after on Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m. CT on State's turf.

Here's a look at the complete list of times and broadcast information for the program's first five contests of the season:

Sept. 2, 3 p.m. CT: Southeastern Louisiana (SEC Network)

Sept 9, 6:30 p.m. CT: Arizona (SEC Network)

Sept 16, 11:00 a.m. CT: LSU (ESPN)

Nov 18, 11 a.m. CT: Southern Mississippi (SEC Network-Plus)

Nov 23, 6:30 p.m. CT: Ole Miss (ESPN)

It will be interesting to see how the slate plays out for the Bulldogs as the team enters a new era under head coach Zach Arnett after finishing out the 2022 season with an overall record of 9-4.
