With college football roughly a week away, Mississippi State added one final final transfer addition to their roster in former Purdue defensive back Jamari Brown.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder was a top-100 prospect coming out of Blanche Ely High School in Florida, ranking as the nation's No. 80 cornerback, according to 247Composite. He initially started his career at Kentucky before transferring to Purdue.

Brown played for the Boilermakers for two seasons, starting in 13 games. During his time there, he recorded 47 tackles, three interceptions, 10 PBUs, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, 2forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

Brown is a graduate transfer and is expected to play out the rest of his college career for the Bulldogs once his paperwork is cleared by the NCAA, sources have told Paul Jones of 247 Sports.

With the addition of Brown, MSU has added 12 transfers to its roster for the upcoming 2023 football season. Other transfers the Bulldogs have picked up include cornerbacks Khamauri Rogers from Miami and Raydarious Jones out of LSU.

Meanwhile, freshman linebacker Ty Jones, a former four-star prospect and 2023 Bulldog signee, is no longer involved with Mississippi State's football program, sources have told Paul Jones of 247 Sports.

Jones has left school and returned home to his family over a personal matter, as his mother passed away back in December of 2022. He is doubtful to continue his football career elsewhere, according to sources familiar with the situation.
