Mississippi State Loses 2024 TE Commitment

Mississippi State football lost a tight end on the recruiting trail over the weekend.

Mississippi State football has had plenty of wins on the recruiting trail as of late, but did lose 2024 tight end commitment Jay Lindsey over the weekend.

The prospect out of Patrician Academy (Butler, Alabama) announced his decision to decommit Saturday via social media:

“To all of the Mississippi State coaches and staff, I would like to thank you for everything that you have done for me and my family. Thank you for taking your time to recruit me and for being so good to me during the process. With that being said, after a lot of thought and prayer, I have decommitted from Mississippi State.”

The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder is listed as a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite where he is also ranked as the No. 37 player in the state of Alabama, No. 46 tight end and No. 971 prospect overall for the Class of 2024.

To this point in his career, Lindsey has received nine scholarship offers from programs including Alabama, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Southern Miss.

Several have predicted that Lindsey will commit to the Crimson Tide next, something that seems logical with the in-state connection.
