How To Watch: Mississippi State Vs. Southeastern Louisiana

What to know and how to tune in as Mississippi State football opens the 2023 season against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.

Mississippi State football opens the 2023 season on Saturday afternoon against the reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana Lions.

This will mark just the second meeting of all time between the two squads after the Bulldogs won the initial matchup back in 2008 with a final score of 34-10.

Southeastern returns some key players as well as some promising new faces as the Lions look to perform well against stout SEC competition. Among the players to watch on the offensive side of the ball for SELA is quarterback Zach Clement, who transferred from Northwestern State after throwing for 3,713 yards and 25 TDs with 18 interceptions.

He was named an All-Southland Conference preseason first-team selection after making the second team last offseason.

For MSU, all eyes will be on quarterback Will Rogers, linebacker Nathaniel Watson and Jett Johnson, as well as running back Jo'quavious Marks as the Bulldogs transition into a new era under head coach Zach Arnett.
