Mississippi State QB Will Rogers Leaves WMU Game With Apparent Injury

Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers exited Saturday's game against the Western Michigan Broncos with an apparent injury.

Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers exited Saturday's game between the Bulldogs and the Western Michigan Broncos roughly midway through the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.

After taking a hard hit from a WMU defender, Rogers went to the injury tent and then went to the locker room with trainers, dragging his left shoulder. Rogers returned to the game to rejoin his teammates with just over 4 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but was without shoulder pads or a helmet.

MSU headed into the game a bit banged up already, and now loses Rogers and kicker Kyle Ferrie, who was seen wearing a walking boot after sustaining an injury earlier in the game.

Rogers finished out the day 16-of-22 passing for 189 yards with 3 touchdowns on an interception-free outing.

At least for the remainder of the game, and possibly longer depending upon what the status of Rogers' injury is, the Bulldogs are rolling with former Vanderbilt transfer quarterback Mike Wright.

Wright has completed 7 of his 10 passing attempts for 57 yards, rushing for an additional score and 24 yards.

MSU leads WMU, 41-28 with 4:12 left to play in the fourth quarter.
