Mississippi State Recieves Four-Star Receiver Commit Mario Craver

Four-star wide receiver Mario Craver announces commitment to play at Mississippi State.

Mario Craver, a wide receiver from Pinson, Alabama, made the decision to continue his football career as a Bulldog. His commitment was announced via Instagram on Monday.

Craver also showed interest in Georgia Tech, Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn, before landing on Mississippi State. 247Sports ranks Craver No. 350 nationally and No. 43 in his position. Out of all of his offers, Mississippi State was the first to give Craver the opportunity to play after he finished his time at Clay-Chalkville.

“With Mississippi State, I will be able to play football for a great program close to home,” Craver said about his opportunity to play. “My family will get to see me play, I have a great opportunity to play as a freshman and I feel I will have a chance to get the ball and make big plays. They have shown they will throw the ball around, they feature receivers in space and that is a great fit for me.”

Along with the location of the team, Craver also chose Mississippi State because of the opportunity to play SEC and especially to play under new head coach Jeff Lebby.

“Coach Lebby is a great guy and an even better coach,” Craver said. “I love that he knows that football will take care of itself as long as your off-the-field priorities are right. He definitely made me a priority. Coach Lebby got into Starkville on Sunday, and he was already at my house for an in-home visit on Wednesday.”

The Bulldogs have been pushing hard for Craver ever since his sophomore year. With this talented addition to the team, the Mississippi State recruiters will continue to grow the 2024 recruiting class to strengthen the future of the program.
