Two Mississippi State Products Named to AP NFL All-Pro Teams

Mississippi State continues to stand out in the NFL.

Mississippi State products have stood out among the NFL's best for decades, and 2023 was no different.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones was named to the Associated Press All-Pro First Team on Friday.

In 2023, Jones received enough votes en route to his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl selection and second-straight AP First Team All-Pro and Players' All-Pro appearances. Jones recorded 29 quarterback hits, 13 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in the regular season.

Jones played in Starkville, Miss. from 2013-15. In 38 games, he tallied 102 tackles, including 18 for loss, and 8.5 sacks.

Nevertheless, Jones wasn't the only former Mississippi State standout who made an All-Pro appearance as Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott landed the sole quarterback spot on the Second Team.

Additionally, Prescott made the prestigious Pro Bowl roster for the third time of his career. He completed a league-high 410 pass attempts for 4,516 yards and another  NFL-best 36 touchdowns.

Prescott played in Starkville from 2012-15. He started during his sophomore year but split some snaps with Tyler Russell. He was the lone gunslinger in 2014 and 2015 and finished with a combined 560 completions for 7,242 yards and 56 touchdowns.

Neither Jones nor Prescott's seasons have ended just yet though, as they're aiming to lead their respective teams in the playoffs.
