• The NBA season got under way with five former Missouri players on official team rosters: Denver forward Michael Porter Jr., Los Angeles Clippers forward Kobe Brown, Los Angeles Lakers D'Moi Hodge, Miami guard Dru Smith, and Utah guard Jordan Clarkson.

• After handing out their championship rings, the Nuggets thumped the Lakers, 119-107. Porter had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Denver. 

• The Missouri women's golf team wrapped up play at The Southern in Georgia, by finishing sixth. Sophomore Melanie Walker led the Tigers, firing a 222 over 54 holes (75-74-73) to place in the top five. The tournament concluded fall schedule for the team.

• Missouri swept the SEC Diver of the Week honors following the conference opener at Alabama. Sophomore Collier Dyer won the springboard events by posting scores of 337.80 on the 1-meter and 320.40 on the 3-meter. Senior Kayla Wilson took first place on the 3-meter springboard with a personal-best score of 331.73, and was third on the 1-meter (276.68).

On This Day in Mizzou History:

• October 25, 1941: Don Faurot's squad shut out Nebraska 6-0 in the first of four straight shutouts. The Tigers went on to finish 8-2 and capture the Big Six Conference title. 

October 25, 1997:  Although the Tigers blew a 30-7 lead in the second half, it drove 80 yards in final two minutes, with a 38-yard touchdown reception by Ricky Ross with 18 second remaining to send the game to overtime. Missouri eventually pulled off the 51-50 double-overtime victory at No. 12 Oklahoma State when quarterback Tony Lindsay’s scramble was stopped on a two-point attempt. Corby Jones threw four touchdown passes and ran for two scores for Mizzou.
