How to Watch: Missouri Baseball vs Northern Kentucky

The Tigers look to redeem themselves after a disappointing home opener against in-state rival Southeast Missouri State.

After an unfortunate outing against SEMO, Missouri is looking to recover in their first home series of the year.

Missouri will take on the Northern Kentucky Norse for the first time on Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m. as part of a three game set.

Right-handed junior Bryce Mayer will take the mound for the third time this year to start the series for the Tigers. In his last outing, Mayer went five innings for the Tigers, giving up four runs in their 10-3 loss to San Diego State.

The Tigers will send out Carter Rustad to pitch for the game on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. Rustad will be looking to improve himself from his last outing, where gave up five runs on six hits in his outing against UC San Diego.

To round out the series, Logan Lunceford will make his third start of the year as well. He earned his second win of the season after pitching three innings against UC San Diego, giving up three runs and striking out four.

"They're going to be a competitive group right there," Missouri head coach Kerrick Jackson said about the matchup. "They're having some success right now. They've got probably four or five hitters in the lineup that are hitting over .300. [Northern Kentucky head coach Dizzy Peyton] does a good job with those kids."
