Missouri Baseball Gets Shutout Again by No. 1 Arkansas

After five innings of no-score baseball, a six-run sixth sealed the loss for the Tigers.

After an action packed first couple inning from Arkansas in yesterdays game, it was quite the opposite for the second game of the series. The sixth inning saw all the action in this game.

Missouri earned their second SEC loss in as many games to No. 1 Arkansas in a 6-0 shutout by Arkansas's Brady Tygart and Will McEntire.

A Tiger was finally able to reach third base in the series. All it took was three straight walks. But a Matt Garcia line out to a perfectly placed shortstop left the bases loaded and erased Missouri's chance at scoring first.

They got another chance in the top of the fifth, getting two on with a hit-by-pitch and a walk. But the Tigers once again stranded runners on base.

Javyn Pimental is making his case for the strongest starting pitcher on the Missouri roster. Pimental tossed five scoreless frames and held the No. 1 college baseball team to one hit. Former Tiger Ross Lovich broke up Pimental's no-hitter in the bottom of the fifth inning, but it didn't result in a anything.

After five innings of scoreless baseball, Missouri went to the bullpen but grabbed another starter to relieve Javyn Pimental. But Bryce Mayer wasn't able to settle in however and gave up back-to-back-to-back solo home runs to break the scoring open. It didn't stop there.

Ross Lovich played the villain in back-to-back games. He put up a two-run triple to set Arkansas up by five and score the first runs in the series not by a homer. He then came home on a wild pitch by Charlie Miller.

The Tigers return to the field again on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m.
