Top JUCO Prospect Joins Missouri Football Recruiting Class

Consensus JUCO 3-star offensive tackle Jayven Richardson pledged his commitment to Eli Drinkwitz and Missouri's 2024 recruiting class.

Missouri football capitalized on their recent momentum on the field, translating it over to the recruiting trail. On Thanksgiving Day, Class of 2024 junior-college product Jayven Richardson pledged his commitment to the Tigers.

Richardson, a 6-6, 315 pound offensive tackle hails from Gonzalez, La. He plays for Hutchinson Community College currently and will join the Tigers for the 2024 season.

Richardson is a consensus 3-star JUCO prospect, ranked as the consensus No. 17 player in the country. Richardson is also the No. 3 ranked offensive tackle prospect in the country. He joins 3-star offensive tackle Ryan Jostes and 3-star center Talan Chandler as the offensive line signings for Missouri for the class of 2024.

With the addition of Richardson, Missouri moved to No. 29 in On3 team recruiting rankings, up four spots. However, the Tigers currently sit at No. 15 in the SEC team rankings, only ahead of Vanderbilt.

This commitment came as a surprise to the Tiger fanbase, with a twitter post coming on the evening of Thanksgiving. Coach Drinkwitz hinted at a potential commitment on twitter, which sent Mizzou fans into a frenzy.

Richardson is the 16th commitment to head coach Eli Drinkwitz 2024 class, with initial signing day closing in on Dec. 20, 2023. As the day nears, Coach Drinkwitz has a few remaining targets. Arkansas decommit Courtney Crutchfield, a receiver from Arkansas, has received a prediction to commit to the Tigers. Ashton Bethel-Roman, an Arkansas commit and Texas native, also visited Missouri for the game against Florida on Nov. 18.
