Missouri Football Makes Late Push, Lands Commitment From Kewan Lacy

Out of nowhere, the Tigers have landed a commitment from the top rated running back.

The Missouri Tigers have landed another 4-star commitment from Kewan Lacy, a composite 4-star running back from Lancaster, TX.

Lacy is a 6-0 205 pound running back with good speed for his size. He is composite ranked No. 244 in the country while also being ranked as the No. 17 running back.

This commitment certainly comes as a surprise to many, as it looked like the Tigers were out on the Texas native. Lacy was committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers for exactly four months, with a plethora of SEC schools flooding him with offers after the fact.

Ole Miss and Alabama were believed to be the favorites leading up to his commitment on the night of Dec. 14. In fact, just hours leading up to the fact the Runnin' Rebels looked like the landing spot for Lacy. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz made up lots of ground in a short period of time.

Social media exploded with excitement after rumors started to float of Lacy's interest in the Tigers, but it was mainly surprise. It is safe to say that there was no common knowledge of Lacy's commitment.

Another impressive part of this comitment was the ability of coach Drinkwitz to steal a top recruit from coaches like Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban. Drinkwitz is making an effort to secure his spot as one of the nation's best recruiters.

After this pop-up commitment, Tiger fans should be on the lookout for future commitments. 4-star receiver target Courtney Crutchfield will announce his commitment on Dec. 19. Another important prospect for the Tigers, 4-star safety Trajen Greco, will announce his commitment on Jan. 6.
