Markell Johnson in the Lineup For Today's Game

The senior point guard will make his 2019-20 season debut against Detroit Mercy

Senior point guard Markell Johnson is in uniform and will start for the NC State basketball team today when the Wolfpack takes on Detroit Mercy at PNC Arena.

The 6-foot-1 preseason All-ACC selection missed Tuesday's 2019-20 season opener against Georgia Tech with an ankle injury. The Wolfpack lost that game 82-81 in overtime.

Johnson went through pregame warmups without a hint of a limp Sunday and would appear to be available without any restrictions.

Johnson averaged 12.6 points and 4.2 assists last season and is expected to be the Wolfpack's on-court leader this year. He scored 26 points in the exhibition win against Mount Olive.
