Former NC State defensive lineman Joseph Boletepeli faces several charges after being accused of making multiple threats against NC State football officials, including head coach Dave Doeren.

Boletepeli played three games at NC State over two seasons before transferring to Maryland in 2020. He recently reentered the transfer portal with one year of eligibility left.

He originally came to NC State from Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he graduated after spending his first three seasons at Millbrook High in Raleigh.

Boletepeli reportedly has threatened NC State coaches several times on his public Twitter account, including one earlier this week, and has shown up at the football facility. During his arrest, he allegedly tried to avoid being handcuffed, which led to an additional charge.
