With NC State enjoying the first of its two weekends off this football season, there's no Wolfpack action to report. There were, however, several former State players in action around the county.

Here is a look at how some of those transfers fared, starting with tight end Thad Moss -- who left Raleigh in 2016 after just one season with the Wolfpack. The son of NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss went to LSU, where he sat out 2017 under NCAA transfer rules, then missed all last season with a foot injury.

Saturday, he scored his first touchdown as a member of Tigers, hauling in an eight-yard pass in his team's 42-6 win against Utah State. Moss finished the game with five receptions for 39 yards. He how has eight grabs for 115 yards and a score on the season.

"I scored my freshman year at North Carolina State, I think the third game," Moss said after the game. "It was a split formation rollout, I caught it in the flat. It was like a three-yard touchdown. But yeah, it's been awhile. It's been four years.

"It feels good. Honestly, it feels a lot like it did the first game. It will probably hit me more when I get home, sit down and call my dad."

Elsewhere, the duo of State transfers Markel Valdez and Shug Frazier both played roles for Hampton on Saturday in its 40-34 win against North Alabama. Valdez, a junior cornerback, had a tackle and a pass breakup while Frazier, a junior defensive tackle recorded a tackle to go along with a half sack in the victory.

Defensive end Joe Babros played but didn't record any statistics for Montana in its 59-20 win against Idaho State. Babros, who may be best remembered as the guy that got ejected for fighting in the 2018 Kay Yow Spring Game, has six tackles in four games for the Grizzlies -- the eighth-ranked team in FCS.

Graduate defensive back Vernon Greer has been credited with one tackle for South Carolina State so far this season heading into Saturday night's game against Delaware State. Junior DB Troy Vincent Jr. has also made one stop for Towson, which had the week off.

At the junior college level, former Wolfpack defensive lineman Davontae McCrae didn't record any stats this week for East Mississippi Community College -- better known as Last Chance U thanks to the ESPN series of the same name -- but he does have two tackles and a sack this season.

East Mississippi had its 36-game home winning streak snapped on Friday with a 56-36 loss to rival Northwest Mississippi State CC.
