Bailey Hockman looks back at an emotional night in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Redshirt sophomore Bailey Hockman got his first meaningful snaps in an NC State uniform during a second quarter series last week against Ball State.
Saturday at Florida State, the school at which he spent his freshman season before transferring, Hockman came in again and this time, he stayed in -- completing 21 of 40 passes for 208 yards and his first career touchdown, a 3-yard toss to Emeka Emezie.
Here's what Hockman had to say about his performance in a postgame session with the media ...
"I wish we could have won. We’ve just got to keep getting better. Emotionally, I felt really stable. I felt good. I was strong. I felt confident. We’ve got to keep getting better."
"I think I played well. I did the best I can. The offensive line played great, they played their butts off. I love those guys. The wide receivers played well also. I’ve just got to get it done. We’ve just got to execute. "
On the injury that forced him to leave the game on the final drive ...
"I just tweaked my knee a little bit. I’m fine, all good. No problems, I feel great."
Hockman was asked about the missed opportunities his team had on Saturday and what needs to be done to correct the problem ...
"Every missed touchdown, every drive we don’t score feels like a missed opportunity. You’ve just got to go out there and keep playing."
'We’ve just got to execute. Coach talked about penalties, they kind of hurt us there towards the end. We’re going to get it done, we’ve just got to keep working and keep getting better."
On what he and his offense need to work on most during the upcoming open date ...
"Just execute, just get our execution perfect. Keep working hard, getting in the weight room, getting our bodies right. Just getting ready to make a run here for the rest of the season."
Hockman was asked several times about what it was like to play his first significant action as a college quarterback in the stadium that would have been his home had he stayed at FSU (it was clearly a subject he wasn't exactly comfrotable talking about) ...
"It was good. I’ve been out there before, played under those lights before. It felt like there was no pressure … I have really good relationships with a lot of guys on that team. There were no harsh feelings or nothing, it was good. "
