Key play breakdown: Double move, double trouble for Wolfpack

NC State's defense was off to a strong start Saturday night, containing Florida State's star running back Cam Akers and putting plenty of pressure on quarterback Alex Hornibrook for the majority of the first half.
Trailing just 10-6 with under two minutes remaining before halftime, the Wolfpack appeared to get another stop when Hornibrook threw incomplete on a third-and-16 play from his own 33. But a roughing the passer penalty on Xavier Lyas extended the possession and three plays later -- after a late hit call on Tanner Ingle -- the Seminoles began the process of breaking the game open with a 39-yard touchdown pass to Ontaria Wilson.
Here's a look at how the play unfolded and how Wilson's double move get him open for the catch:
State lines up showing blitz, leaving redshirt freshman cornerback Taiyon Palmer in man coverage on the boundary side of the field against Wilson.
As Wilson makes an inside move, Palmer reacts and turns toward the middle of the field to get what he thinks will be a better angle on his man. In the mean time, linebacker Drake Thomas (on the hashmark at the 43-yard line) realizes that Hornibrook is going to be able to throw the ball and decides to head back into coverage. By that time, it's too late, leaving Palmer on an island.
Instead of continuing to the inside, Wilson (in the top right corner of the frame) plants his foot and changes direction toward the sideline, leaving Palmer flat-footed, the off-balance as he sprints downfield.
The double move allows Wilson to get behind Palmer and create enough separation to give Hornibrook an easy target. And the pass is right on the money.
Safety De'Von Graves tries to come over and help, but by that time Wilson has hauled in the pass and beaten Palmer to the end zone for a 17-6 Seminoles lead that help catapult FSU to the victory.
