A bad first half at Wake Forest on Saturday got even worse for the NC State football team when freshman running back Zonovan Knight added his name to an already lengthy injury list.

The true freshman, who came into the game leading the team with 381 rushing yards, was injured midway through the first half and will not return, according to a Wolfpack team spokesman.

A report by the Associated Press indicated that Knight was taken to the locker room for x-rays. It is not yet known what his status will be for the final four games of the season.

State is already without sophomore running back Ricky Person Jr., who suffered a leg injury against Florida State on Oct. 28. Redshirt freshman Trent Pennix has moved up in the rotation to take Knight's plays. He had three carries for 31 yards in the first half.

Knight was injured on a play in which he took a direct snap and gained two yards to convert a third-and-two situation on State's second drive of the day. He finishes the day with eight yards on three carries.

State trails the Deacons 34-10 after two periods at BB&T Stadium.
