Devin Leary was one of the few bright spots for NC State on Saturday in its 45-24 loss at Boston College. But despite a promising performance in the first extended action of his college career, the young quarterback didn't have much to smile about.

Here's what Leary said in his postgame session with the media ...

"Just starting off, I wish we would have gotten the win. That's what we always come here to do. Whether it's me playing or one of the other guys playing ... the game happened and it's in the past. Now we've got to go back to work next week."

Leary was what worked for him in the second half, when he led his team to all three of its touchdowns and whether he's heard the outcry from fans on social media for him to get more playing time ...

"Just getting into a good rhythm. Just trusting the coach's calls, being confident while we're out there, seeing what we see, whatever the defense is giving us and reading it the correct way. Really, just getting into a good rhythm."

As for his sudden popularity on the Internet ...

"I'm aware of it. But I don't really buy into anything like that because I just want to focus on myself and my game. I'm here for the team, whatever I can do for them. That's my role and I understand that."

Finally, Leary was asked what the Wolfpack needs to do to turn things around on the road, where it is now 0-3 this season (compared to 4-0 at home) ...

"The only thing I would say is we've got to continue to take an 0-0 mentality every week. We've got to win the week and go 1-0. I don't think the away factor plays a big role."
