Nebraska Improves to 4-0 With Victory Over Stony Brook
Another night with plenty of ugly offensive possessions ended with a 21-point win for Nebraska men's basketball.
The Huskers beat Stony Brook 84-63 Wednesday evening. NU is 4-0 for the first time since 2018.
Nebraska needed runs of 6-0 and 5-0 late in the first half to take a 36-28 lead into the break. That momentum continued in the second half as the lead extended to 16 before the Seawolves closed the gap to seven.
The Husker defense locked down and held Stony Brook scoreless for a two-minute stretch while the offense ran off eight straight points to push the game out of reach the rest of the way.
NU shot 55 percent for the game, including 8-for-26 on 3s. Stony Brook managed just 37.6 percent shooting.
Four Huskers reached double-figure scoring, led by Juwan Gary with 19 points. It was the season debut for Gary, who also had seven rebounds.
Brice Williams just missed a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Rienk Mast had 14 points and eight rebounds. Keisei Tominaga improved from his season debut of nine points Monday to drop 16 in the encore.
Nebraska heads out of Lincoln for the first time this weekend, taking on Oregon State in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the Sanford Pentagon.
