Mike Schaefer gets to chat with Tom Shatel, the longtime columnist of the Omaha World-Herald.
There’s plenty of chatter at the beginning about Shatel’s background and how he got into media — he used to answer phones at the newspaper and help settle bar discussions — as well as the perfect timing of being a young writer in Kansas City which seemed to serve as a Big 8 epicenter.
But from those origins Shatel then regales with stories of his time at several different stops before getting the chance to become the columnist of the Omaha World-Herald.
