Huskers Bounce Back With Strong Defense and Defeat Illinois 20-7

SMQ checks in with former Nebraska hoops coach Tim Miles, the Mountain West Coach of the Year

Nebraska's defense stopped Illinois on three fourth downs, including a goal-line stand early in the game. That combined with stifling run defense held Illinois to just 7 points Friday night in Champaign. The Huskers could be bowl-eligible by Nov. 4th and then the Big Ten West emerges as a possibility.

SMQ also checks in with former Nebraska men's basketball coach Tim Miles, who discusses the reality of operating in the new NIL and transfer portal era. Coach Miles was Mountain West coach of the year, leading the Spartans to a 24-14 season. Coach Miles delivers a masterclass on the new realities of college athletics.
