Notes and Quotes from Tuesday’s Nebraska Football Practice

Players say they have patience and trust in coaching staff’s process

Six Huskers met with the media after Tuesday’s Nebraska football practice, and a common thread was having patience with the new coaching staff after the team’s 0-2 start.

“I believe it 100 percent in my heart, if we trust in this process, it’s going to happen,” said freshman defensive lineman Cameron Lenhardt.

Running back Gabe Ervin Jr. said solving the offense's struggles boils down to executing. “We just have to play free,” he said, “and execute the job.”

Linebacker Mikai Gbayor, who got his first start Saturday against Colorado after not playing during his first two years with Nebraska, singled out defensive coordinator Tony White for praise: “He’s a great coach. I believe in him so much.”

The Huskers are preparing for their first home game of 2023, a Saturday night matchup with Northern Illinois.
