Though we are just a little bit of time away from official visits in the 2025 college football recruiting cycle, some prospects are coming in to visit Nebraska unofficially.

One of those recruits is Colin Nehe, a kicker at Lincoln East High School just a few miles southeast of the Nebraska campus. Nehe, who has a 4½-star rating according to Kohl's Professional Camps, caught up with HuskerMax after his visit last week during the Huskers' initial week of spring practice.

“The visit was awesome,” Nehe stated. “I was able to see the great facilities that are brand new and see all the things in action. I really loved the emphasis on maximizing each second in the practice to become better. The culture and energy between the players and coaches were probably my favorite things from the visit.”

He talked about what makes Nebraska football special.

“I’d say what makes Nebraska unique for me is how I grew up watching Nebraska football. The culture that our city has around Nebraska football is incomparable to anything else.”

“Nebraska football has been a dream of mine ever since I was little. It’s kept me motivated to keep working and making myself better. I would want to become a Husker because of the amount of people who support them and fulfill my dreams. I’m going to keep working hard to try and make it happen.”

“I spoke with Coach Foley (Ed Foley, the Huskers' special teams coordinator) a lot during the practice visit and it was great. We talked a lot about the mental side of kicking and how one mistake (like missing a field goal) can’t turn into another. And how that makes or breaks kickers. We also talked about finding the balance between being comfortable and being super anxious. Finding the point where you can be locked in and not afraid to make a mistake is key.”
