Nebraska Softball: Huskers Junior Pitcher Named Preseason All-American

The 2023 WCWS Most Outstanding Player is the lone preseason All-American for the Huskers.

The preseason accolades continue to roll in for Jordy Bahl as she was named to Softball America's Preseason First Team All-America team on Monday morning.

Bahl, who originally committed to Nebraska, transferred to the Huskers after winning back-to-back national championships with the Oklahoma Sooners.

"While Bahl already has two national championships to her name, she is still plenty motivated to represent her home in Nebraska. She’ll carry the predator mentality that earned her the Women’s College World Series Most Outstanding Player honors into the circle to be the ace in Lincoln. Now, we’ll also see her hit and play a variety of positions. When playing in Norman, at-bats were tough to come to by. This year Bahl will be an integral part of the Nebraska lineup and there should be little doubt that she can do it."

The junior, who was recently named to USA Softball's Preseason Top 50 Player of the Year Watchlist, was also named the No. 2 player in the national for Softball America and D1 Softball's Top 100.

D1 Softball has her ranked as the No. 2 pitcher in the country in the position power rankings.

Bahl enters the 2024 season with a long list of accomplishments and awards but the goal is to get her home state program back to the Women's College World Series.
