Notre Dame’s hot start in 2021 just got a lot better as the Irish picked up a huge commitment from elite wide receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr. Styles is ranked as the No. 28 player and No. 4 wide receiver in the country according to Rivals

The Pickerington (Ohio) Central star picked Notre Dame over Ohio State and Auburn. Styles visited Ohio State - where his father played linebacker (1991-93) - last weekend, and he was in town this weekend visiting Notre Dame.

Styles is a dynamic pass catcher that is also a standout defensive player for the Tigers. He camped at Notre Dame during the summer of 2018 and immediately became a top target for the Irish staff. Despite the family connection to Ohio State, the Notre Dame staff worked extremely hard to develop a strong bond with the standout receiver.

During that summer camp, Styles also connected with San Diego (Calif.) The Bishops School quarterback Tyler Buchner, and the two have bonded over the last year and a half. Buchner became Notre Dame’s first commitment in the 2021 class when he announced for the Irish on March 8, 2019.

Styles becomes the second Rivals100 wide receiver to pick Notre Dame, with consensus Top 100 wideout Deion Colzie pledging to the Irish earlier in the weekend.

Styles had offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin, Penn State, Auburn, Nebraska, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Purdue, West Virginia, Duke, Boston College, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland and Vanderbilt.
