WATCH: Marvin Harrison Jr. Burns Hilltoppers Defense For TD

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. turns on the jets to put his team ahead 21-10 in the second quarter against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day was caught on a hot mic calling out the play: "doubles left hip z-hop flash greedy route." That must translate to chuck it to Marvin Harrison Jr.

Harrison ran a fly route and burned the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers' defense over the top for a 75-yard touchdown, setting a new career-long score one week after notching a 71-yarder last week against the Youngstown State Penguins. With the touchdown, Harrison became the ninth Buckeyes receiver in program history to score 20 career touchdowns, tying K.J. Hill for eighth all-time.

Harrison registered the fastest speed of any player in college football, but he may have topped it Saturday. The Philadelphia native is usually running deep crossers, but this time around he didn't stop as he raced to the end zone to give Ohio State a 21-10 lead over Western Kentucky in the second quarter.

After concerns were raised when he only had two catches for 18 yards in the season-opener, Harrison has clearly proven he has rekindled the flame with quarterback Kyle McCord from their days at St. Joseph's Prep in high school.

The All-American pass-catcher had seven catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Penguins and has four receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown against Western Kentucky.

This is the third time in Harrison's career that he has had back-to-back 100-yard receiving performances. The previous two were in weeks 2 and 3 and against Michigan and Georgia, respectively, in 2022.

Harrison needs four more scores to pass Garrett Wilson for seventh all-time in the program's receiving touchdown list.
