"I feel like we have a team that’s come together for a common purpose," Day said. "We talk about why do you play so hard here at Ohio State, it’s because of the brotherhood, the love of your teammates. I think we have a good group that way. I think guys want to be here."

Ohio State has what many would consider an unnecessary amount of quality options at each position. Having several players in competition for just a couple of spots typically leads to someone transferring to a school with a more certain shot at playing time.

However, Day said the additional length of this season will lead to more players than usual seeing the field.

“They see the opportunity this season so I don’t see a bunch of guys that are just looking to run out the door,” Day said. “I think there’ll be a couple of different situations that maybe it doesn’t make sense for guys that may be looking at other places, but we’ll adapt as those happen. We know we’re going to have to play with a lot of depth next year when you’re playing 16 or 17 games more than ever before guys are going to play football.

The Spring transfer portal window will run from Tuesday, April 16 to Tuesday, April 30.
