Ohio State OL Trey Leroux Will Not Return to Team for 2024 Season

Leroux will enter the world of finance following his recent graduation from Ohio State, electing not to use his last two years of college eligibility.

Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman Trey Leroux will not return to the team for the coming season.

Leroux told several outlets this week that he has chosen to enter the professional world after four seasons with the Buckeyes.

The Norwalk, Ohio native was a three-star recruit for Ohio State back in 2020. Despite his somewhat evaluation, Leroux rarely saw the field over his time playing for the Buckeyes.

Leroux's most active year was easily 2021, during which he played three games of that season. Functioning as a backup lineman, Leroux was a valuable part of the Buckeyes as they tried to recover from some key injuries to their front five.

However, both the 2022 and 2023 seasons saw Leroux standing on the sidelines, rather than on the playing field. Leroux continued to see time during practice with some of the reserve units but did not have enough to beat the other guys at his position for a higher spot on the depth chart.

Standing a staggering 6-foot-7 inches, Leroux was one of the tallest linemen on the roster. In fact, Leroux was tied with fellow offensive lineman Zen Michaelski for the tallest player on Ohio State's entire roster, not just at the position.

As for what is next for Leroux, the Ohio State alumnus said he has taken a job with JPMorgan Chase, a financial investment group.

Leroux has a bachelor's degree in business administration according to his LinkedIn page.

"Over the last few years, I have spent my time being a student and an athlete on the football team," Leroux wrote on his profile. "In doing so, I have learned what it takes to work under pressure, understand and cooperate with others, and make necessary changes on the fly to get the best possible outcome...I believe that the characteristics that I have accumulated as a student-athlete will also serve well in my future endeavors in the business world."
