Buckeyes Ryan Day Breaks Top 10 in CBS Sports College Coach Rankings
The success that Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has enjoyed since taking over the Buckeyes program is nothing short of astonishing. Posting a 45-6 career record in Columbus since 2019 is impressive, and the success is expected to continue.
Now that spring practice is over it's time to focus on the upcoming season and think about which college football teams will impress once again.
The Buckeyes are going to be one of the top teams of 2023 and that's largely due to the efforts of Day. CBS Sports put together a list of the top 25 coaches of Power Five programs entering the 2023 season, and Day is well placed.
8. Ryan Day - Ohio State
"You could make an argument for Day to be higher on this list but until he solves the Michigan problem and wins a national title, it’ll be hard for him to climb. That’s the way things are at Ohio State."
The fact is Day has yet to win a national title, and it's holding him back from being higher on this list. And there's no doubt that his issues in solving Jim Harbaugh and Michigan have something to do with him dropping two spots down this list from last year when he was ranked No. 6.
