Ohio State Buckeyes Football Post Spring Depth Chart Projection

Now that the Ohio State Buckeyes are finished with spring practice and their spring game, here's a look at a two-deep projected depth chart for this fall.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have 15 practices and their spring game in the books.

Everyone knows stars like receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau have their names Sharpie'd into the Buckeyes' starting positions, but what about the other roles?

Ohio State has positional battles at quarterback, tackle, center, and cornerback. Some of the players who will fill those spots became a little clearer as spring went on, but others are wide open.

The Buckeyes' offense posted 555 yards in the spring game to go along with 31 points, even without quarterback Devin Brown and receivers Emeka Egbuka, Julian Fleming and Xavier Johnson.

Center Jakob James, who was going to be in contention for the starting center role, also missed spring ball with an injury.

Here is what the Buckeyes' 2023 offense could look like.

Quarterback - Kyle McCord, Devin Brown

Running Back - TreVeyon Henderson, Miyan Williams

Wide Receiver - Marvin Harrison Jr., Jayden Ballard

Wide Receiver - Julian Fleming, Brandon Inniss

Wide Receiver - Emeka Egbuka, Xavier Johnson

Tight End - Cade Stover, Gee Scott Jr.

Left Tackle - Josh Fryar, Zen Michalski

Left Guard - Donovan Jackson, Enokk Vimahi

Center - Carson Hinzman, Jakob James

Right Guard - Matthew Jones, Victor Cutler Jr.

Right Tackle - Ben Christman, Tegra Tshabola

On the other side of the ball, Ohio State's defense put up 40 points and won the spring game, thanks in large part to eight three-and-outs.

Saturday's Team Gray victory signified how a lot of the open practices went, leaving the offense searching for answers and momentum.

Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles continually said the phrase "hold the line" throughout the spring, especially in red zone situations in which the defense prevailed more often than not.

The Buckeyes were without Tommy Eichenberg for the entire spring as he was recovering from an offseason injury. Eichenberg went through pregame warmups before the spring game but did not play.

Fellow 2022 starting linebacker Steele Chambers also missed time late in spring camp as he was on crutches Saturday.

Here's what Ohio State's defense could look like in the season opener against the Indiana Hoosiers on Sept. 2.

Defensive End - J.T. Tuimoloau, Caden Curry

Defensive End - Jack Sawyer, Kenyatta Jackson

Defensive Tackle - Tyleik Williams, Hero Kanu

Defensive Tackle - Ty Hamilton, Mike Hall Jr.

Linebacker - Tommy Eichenberg, Cody Simon

Linebacker - Steele Chambers, C.J. Hicks
