Ex-Buckeyes Coach Zach Smith Calls Out 'Clown' Cowherd

FS1 sports talk show host Colin Cowherd continues to be called out over his wrongful mention of former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins during a segment about signal-callers who "can't" win a Super Bowl.

FS1's sports talk show host Colin Cowherd got himself into seriously hot water for a segment that recently aired on his show "The Herd," where he was listing out "quarterbacks who can't win a Super Bowl."

One of the names listed was former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who passed in April of 2022 after being hit on the roadside by a dump truck

Like many who saw the clip of Cowherd's horrible and inexcusable mistake, former Buckeyes receiving coach Zach Smith was among those who publicly voiced their criticism. Smith went as far as to call Cowherd a "clown."

"THIS IS SPORTS MEDIA???" Smith said on Twitter. "The Turd with Colin Cowturd. Dwayne Haskins is one of the QBs who can't win a Super Bowl this year? F--king CLOWN."

The inclusion of Haskins was just the worst of Cowherd's list of quarterbacks who "can't" win Super Bowls, as they included several names who are no longer in the NFL. These names include Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles, Paxton Lynch, and EJ Manuel.

Despite this hugely flawed segment that didn't even have the title spelled out right, as it said "can" win Super Bowls when it needed "can't," Cowherd has yet to issue a public apology for the listing and the specific naming of Haskins.

Before Haskins' tragic death, he continued the Buckeyes' pipeline of sending quarterbacks into the NFL. After just one season as the starter at Ohio State, Haskins went into the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, being selected by the Washington Commanders, where he'd play just two seasons before being released and picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021.
