Oklahoma Lands Commitment From Highly-Touted 2025 Quarterback

Sperry received his offer from Oklahoma less than a week ago, but has moved quickly on his recruitment by announcing his allegiance to the Sooners.

A late night bombshell on the recruiting trail for Oklahoma.

The Sooners gained a highly significant commitment on Monday night, as 2025 quarterback Kevin Sperry out of Rock Hill High School in Prosper, TX announced his allegiance to OU.

Sperry’s commitment to OU is somewhat unprecedented given his age as just a high school sophomore, but his resume of offers speaks for itself at such a young age.

The young signal-caller already has offers in hand from the likes of Florida State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and TCU among numerous others — with the offer from Brent Venables, Jeff Lebby and the Sooners having come down just last Thursday.

To put in perspective how early in the process the commitment of Sperry is, Oklahoma is still yet awaiting their first commitment of the 2024 class. OU now has their apparent centerpiece of the 2025 crop.

In an interview with AllSooners late last month, Sperry expressed his great interest in playing for Lebby given his background in grooming quarterbacks.

While he has no ratings or rankings just yet, the 2025 class as a whole does not, it is widely expected he will be among the very top in the class when things are all said and done.

Keeping in mind that certainly a long time still sits between now and his eventual signing day in a couple of years, Oklahoma now has a very significant piece to build their 2025 recruiting class around in the many months ahead.
