Oklahoma State, for the first time this season, won't be rotating three quarterbacks.

Oklahoma State has named a starting quarterback against Iowa State, putting an end to the three-quarterback system. This was much needed to help the flow of the offense, which has struggled thus far into the season.

Alan Bowman, the sixth-year senior, is the quarterback to earn the first starting gig with the intention of playing the full game for the Cowboys this season.

While it's not guaranteed Bowman will keep the starting quarterback position, it's good to see the staff trusting one guy for a full game. Now, the offense will be able to properly be analyzed.

Maybe the run game will be able to open up and receivers will be able to get going as they'll be led by the same quarterback under center consistently. This could drastically change things on both sides of the ball.

All-in-all, naming a quarterback for a full game was more than due, and giving it to the most experienced player isn't a bad idea. There wasn't really a wrong answer considering none of the three quarterbacks were able to create any separation from each other. Both Garret Rangel and Gunnar Gundy will provide good options if Bowman under center full-time doesn't work out.

This game could act as a turning point to the season for the Cowboys, and this was the first step for Oklahoma State making that happen.

Bowman has played five years of college football prior to transferring to Oklahoma State. He's played at Texas Tech and Michigan, totaling 34 career touchdowns to his 19 interceptions.

It's no surprise Mike Gundy picked the quarterback with the most experience, and the other two options now have added experience if they decide to turn in another direction.
